But my suggestion is to really look around at the range of window choices, and even look at windows in price ranges you might never consider just so you really understand what you are choosing between. Obviously, it's your house and the only opinion that really matters is yours. Contrary to popular belief, not every window needs shutters. That said, this is all just my opinion, and even other people who agree with me don't seem have the same visceral reaction I have to snap ons and between the pane windows. Look closely and youll see that the shutters on this house are all too small for the windows and are tacked on without hardware. A house in our neighborhood just had new windows installed with the Prairie 6-Lite Beth posted. ![]() At some point we will need to replace the windows, and Ill want some form of grids again. Now, simulated divided light are fake too. The grids are rectangular (about 21' x 11') and pretty much line up with the shutters, if that makes sense. user to quickly and easily layout their windows on a dynamic grid using just the mouse. But, IMO, snap in or between the glass grids scream "FAKE!!!!" I would much rather see a decently trimmed, well chosen window with no grids than either snap-on or between the glass fake grids. WindowGrid is a modern window management program for Windows. ![]() It's a pretty traditional house, and I think windows with muntins, or a reasonably facsimile, like simulated divided light, would be optimal. It's one of those things where you get what you pay for and there are no substitutes. Grids are known to obstruct the view you have through the window. I feel like the responses so far have not considered the how you would achieve the "grid look." Unfortunately, any reasonable approximation of traditional divided light windows with muntins is very expensive.
